HOW GALVANIZED STEEL WIRE IS PRODUCED?

Release time:

2024-09-19

The production of galvanized wire is mainly divided into two types: hot-dip galvanized wire and cold-dip galvanized wire (Electro-galvanized wire).

Hot-dip galvanized wire production process

1. Raw material selection: Choose low carbon steel or high carbon steel as raw material.

2. Drawing molding: The raw materials are drawn and molded.

3. Pickling and rust removal: Pickling the formed steel to remove oxides and rust on the surface.

4. High temperature annealing: Annealing treatment to improve the mechanical properties of the material.

5. Hot-dip galvanizing: Dip plating in heated and melted zinc liquid to form a zinc layer on the surface of the steel.

6. Cooling: Finally, the plated material is cooled

Cold galvanized wire (Electro-galvanized wire) production process

1. Raw material selection: Low carbon steel is also selected as the raw material.

2. Drawing molding: drawing raw materials into the required shape.

3. Pickling and rust removal: remove impurities and oxides from the surface.

4. High temperature annealing: Annealing treatment to ensure the mechanical properties of the material.

5. Electroplating: Zinc is gradually plated on the metal surface through the unidirectional current in the electroplating tank.

6. Cooling: After completing electroplating, perform cooling treatment

The production process of both galvanized wires includes steps such as drawing, pickling, rust removal, and annealing. The difference is that hot-dip galvanizing is immersed in zinc liquid, while cold-dip galvanizing is electroplated through the action of electric current. The former has a fast production speed and the coating is thick but uneven; the latter has a slow production speed and the coating is uniform and thin.
